About us

Overview

One of Oak Creek High School’s school-based enterprises is the Armory. The Armory is a retail business consisting of three brick-and-mortar businesses: one at the main campus, another at the ninth-grade center, and another located within the football stadium. In addition, The Armory operates a fully functional e-commerce website. The objective of the Armory is to provide realistic, hands-on activities for student learners to become wise consumers. With this in mind, our online store provides exposure to the technological side of retail. Working in the store will provide students with the skills, knowledge, and attitudes expected of entry- level employees.

FBLA and DECA Commitment

As top business students, Armory employees participate in business clubs at Oak Creek High School. Our participation in Oak Creek's FBLA chapter helps high school students prepare for careers in business through academic competitions, leadership development, and educational programs. In addition, our involvement in DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.

DECA Gold Certification

In the 2021-2022 school year, the Armory competed in the DECA Gold Chapter Certification for the School-Based Enterprise (SBE). Through this certification, the Armory students entered to compete in the Food Service Operations event by documenting their experience in the SBE categories; key achievement indicators of the National Curriculum Standards in marketing, finance, and management. In January of 2022, a group of three students competed at DECA’S State Competition in Lake Geneva, and were recognized and received the Gold Chapter recognition for our School-based Enterprise. The Armory was awarded the highest standard for the 2021-2022 Food Service Operation event for the School-Based Enterprise; winning the Gold Certification and receiving a plaque. The Armory is very proud of all the students that worked together to achieve this award.
